The I M. Magomaev International Vocalists ContestOn 23 and 24 October of this year the concert hall of Crocus City Hall hosted the I Muslim Magomaev International Vocalists Contest. Organizers of the contest, the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Heritage Fund headed by Tamara Sinyavskaya, surviving spouse of the great singer, invite talented vocalists, age 40 and above, that have special music education and wish to perform both classic opera and pop repertoire in front of the jury panel, to take part in the contest. According to the words of Tamara Sinyavskaya “the purpose of the contest is to maintain the level established by Muslim”.The jury panel includes worldwide famous cultural figures, professor Tamara Sinyavskaya, the People’s Artist of the USSR, principal singer of the Bolshoi Theatre, professor Elena Obraztsova, the People’s Artist of the USSR, principal singer of the Bolshoi Theatre, singer and composer Tamara Gverdziteli, the People’s Artist of Russia and Georgia, professor and orchestra director Yury Bashmet, the People’s Artist of Russia, professor and composer Alexei Rybnikov, the People’s Artist of Russia, professor and director of Baku music academy Farkhad Badalbeily, composer Michel Legrand (France). The Grand Prix of the contest is 30 thousand dollars, the first prize is 15 thousand dollars, the second prize is 10 thousand dollars, the third prize is 5 thousand dollars. Depending of results gained by contenders the jury panel may award only certain prizes and distribute them among performers (exclusive of the Grand Prix). The contest performance is supported by symphonic orchestra with live singing and instrumental performance. The second round is competed with Gala Concert of contenders.

Welcome to the website of the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Heritage Fund. On the pages of this website you’ll be able to get acquainted with projects that are planned to be implemented by the Fund. One of the key goals is to prepare and hold the International Contest for Vocal Singers named after M. Magomaev. The starting point of this idea was M. Magomaev Memorial Evening held on 25 October 2009 on the stage of the most modern concert hall — Crocus City Hall built by his friend Aras Agalarov in the memory of Muslim. The idea of this music project appeared absolutely naturally. There are many contests for vocal singers in the world but none of them combines participation of singers capable to perform both classical repertoire and modern pop music.
