Leschenko, Kobzon and Gverdziteli honor the memory of Muslim Magomaev

M.Magomaev International Vocalists Contest is unique. Uniqueness of this contest, established by the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Heritage Fund, is based on requirement that participating vocalists must demonstrate their gift and skill in both classic and pop repertoire.

During elimination round the most gifted vocalists from various countries were heared. The rigorous jury panel ultimately selected the best vocalists who are going to compete for the victory in the contest. On 20 October 2012 they come on the stage of Muslim Magomaev concert hall in Crocus city Hall in order to prove their talent and skill. You can make your opinion about contenders and hear great music pieces performed by young vocalists if you attend concerts during contest nights at the Crocus City Hall. The contest has been organized by the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Heritage Fund, and this year’s contest is the second one. Jury panel headed by Tamara Sinyavskaya includes opera singer Elena Obraztsova, director of Baku conservatory Badalbeily Farkhad Shamsi ogly, art director of Gelikon Opera Moscow music theatre Dmitry Bertman, art director of the International Academy of Opera Arts (Osimo, Italy) Vicenzo De Vivo, People’s Artist of the RSFSR Lev Leschenko, Latvian and Russian singer Laima Vaikule. “The idea of this contest arose one year after Muslim’s departure, a day after his memorial concert”, said Tamara Sinyavskaya, head of jury panel, “25 October is the fourth anniversary of his departure and we conduct already the second contest devoted to Magomaev. The number of persons willing to participate has grown. It is his merit. Despite the early age of the contest, this year we have received a lot of responses. In total we have received 207 singer applications from 18 countries. Persons selected to take part in the contest include representatives of Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Germany, the USA, Northern Korea, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, the Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus. I believe he is seeing this now and he is grateful that we do not stop”.
Also, during the milestone birthday of the great singer and composer the organizer of the contest, the Magomaev Fund and Crocus City Hall, give a present to all worshipers, the memorial concert “You are My Melode. To the great singer…” scheduled for 5 October 2012. Coming on the Muslim Magomaev stage of Crocus City Hall his close friends and colleagues will perform the most famous pieces of this cult figure worshipped by millions.
