Second International Muslim Magomaev Vocalist Contest to Be Held In Moscow Moscow, “Crocus City Hall” , October 20-21 2012.The Second (IInd) International Muslim Magomaev Vocalist Contest will be held in Moscow on the 20th and 21st of October 2012 and will be devoted to the 70th anniversary of the great singer’s birth. classical and variety art. The Contest organized by the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Fund is unique because the participants must demonstrate their talent and mastership performing works of both classical opera and variety art repertoire. The jury of the Second Contest will again (include) consist of) leading opera soloists, stars of variety art, musical theaters conductors, composers and musicians. The Jury will be headed by People’s Actress of the USSR, soloist of the Bolshoi, professor Tamara Sinyavskaya. The Contest will have two rounds and is to be widely represented in Russian and foreign mass-media. Invited to participate in the Contest are professional singers from 18 to 35 years, having special musical education and students of musical Academies or colleges. They are to send to the Organization Committee a preliminary application, audio- or video materials. Applications for participation in the Second International Contest are received till the 15th of April 2012. Welcome to the website of the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Heritage Fund. On the pages of this website you’ll be able to get acquainted with projects that are planned to be implemented by the Fund. One of the key goals is to prepare and hold the International Contest for Vocal Singers named after M. Magomaev. The starting point of this idea was M. Magomaev Memorial Evening held on 25 October 2009 on the stage of the most modern concert hall — Crocus City Hall built by his friend Aras Agalarov in the memory of Muslim. The idea of this music project appeared absolutely naturally. There are many contests for vocal singers in the world but none of them combines participation of singers capable to perform both classical repertoire and modern pop music.
