The winners of the I International Muslim Magomaev Vocalist Contest are announced

On the 23 and October 24, 2010 in the concert hall "Crocus City Hall" the First International Muslim Magomaev Vocalist Contest took place. It was attended by the singers from Europe and the former Soviet Union.

As a result of auditioning conducted by audio and video recordings, the committee chose 14 participants who have demonstrated possession of a classical opera and popular entertainer’s repertoire.

The competition was held in two rounds. In the first round, the contestants performed classical and popular works from the treasury of world music, in the second round - only works from the repertoire of Muslim Magomaev. The international jury included: The People's Artist of USSR, the soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, Professor Tamara Sinyavskaya, People's Artist of USSR, Bolshoi Theatre soloist, Professor Elena Obraztsova, People's Artist of Russia and Georgia, singer, composer Tamata Gverdtsiteli, People's Artist of Russia, professor, musician, Yuri Bashmet, People's Artist of Russia, composer Alexey Rybnikov, composer Michel Legrand, People's Artist of USSR, Professor, Rector of Baku Music Academy Farhad Badalbeyli.

As a result of the voting the certificates and 15 thousand dollars for the first prize were awarded to Ilya Silchukovu from Belarus and Samedov Javid from Azerbaijan. Diploma of the winner of the second prize, and 10 thousand dollars were awarded to Samir Jafarov from Azerbaijan. The diplomas of the third prize and 5000 dollars were awarded to the vocalists Dmitry Trifonov from Russia and Oksana Volkova from Belarus.
