Leshchenko, Kobzon and Gverdtsiteli will honor legacy of Muslilm Magomaev.
Muslim Magomaev International Vocalists Contest is unique. This contest was established by the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Heritage Fund. The uniqueness of this contest lies in an opportunity of the contestants to shoe their talent and skills in the performance on both classical and pop repertoire.
Talented singers from different countries auditioned during the try outs, in the end of which strict jury chose the best candidates, who will now have to compete for the first place in the competition. On 20 October 2012 they will perform on the stage of Muslim Magomaev Concert Hall - "Crocus City Hall" to prove their talent and skills. In order to evaluate the contestants and hear great songs, performed by young vocalists, you can attend a concert during the days of contest in Crocus City Hall as well as watch the final day of the contest on TV Channel Kultura. The contest was sponsored and arranged by the Muslim Magomaev Musical and Cultural Heritage Fund and will be held for the second time this year. This year jury, chaired by Tamara Sinyavskaya, included opera singer Elena Obraztsova, rector of Baku Academy of Music, Farhad Shamsi Oglu Badalbeyli, the artistic director of the Moscow Musical Theatre "Helikon-Opera" Dmitry Bertman, the artistic director of the Accademia D’Arte Lirica in Osimo, Italy Vincenzo De Vivo, People's Artist of the RSFSR Lev Leshchenko, and Latvian and Russian singer Laima Vaikule. “The idea of this contest was born a year after Muslim passed away, the day after the Muslim Magomaev memorial concert took place, said the jury chairman Tamara Sinyavskaya. On October 25th, it will be four years since Muslim passed away. This is the second contest dedicated to Magomaev and the number of people willing to participate in it grew. This is Muslim’s merit. Despite the fact that this contest is young, we have received a lot of feedback. We have received 207 applications from artists from 18 countries. Artists from Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Germany, the U.S., North Korea, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Belarus were selected to participate in the contest. I think that Muslim is watching us and is grateful for everything that is going on.”
Additionally, in the anniversary year of the great singer and composer, sponsor of the contest, Muslim Magomaev Fund and Crocus City Hall are giving a memorable concert “You Are My Melody. Dedicated to the Great Singer…” to all the fans. This concert will take place on October 5th, 2012. Magomaev’s close friends and colleagues will perform his most famous songs on the stage of the Muslim Magomaev Concert Hall – Crocus City Hall. Tickets for the memorial concert, as well as both contest days of the II Muslim Magomaev International Vocalists Contest to be held October 20 and 21 on the stage of Crocus City Hall, are now available in all offices of the city.
